Violinist Julia Wedman (juliawedman.com) grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. After studies at UWO, Indiana University, and the University of Toronto, she joined the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra in 2005 and quickly developed a reputation for her solo performances with the group. In addition to being featured regularly on the group's home series in Toronto, Julia has performed solos on tours in Canada, the US, Germany, France, Mexico, Puerto Rico, China, Korea, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. She was a member of I Furiosi Baroque Ensemble for many years and is currently one of the violinists in the  Eybler String Quartet, who have recorded many cds including music of Haydn, Mozart, Eybler, Vanhal and Aspylmayr. Julia's debut solo recording of Heinrich Biber's Mystery Sonatas got rave reviews and continues to connect with her audience in a unique and deep way. Recent performance highlights include guest concertmaster/solo debuts with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (London) and the Orchestra of the 18th Century (Amsterdam), as well as Eybler Quartet's work on faculty of the groundbreaking summer program at the Banff Centre for the Arts, EQ: Evolution of the String Quartet, with the Parker and JACK quartets. Julia has been focusing intensively on the performance of J.S. Bach's music with The Toronto Bach Festival, with fantastically expressive dancer Brian Solomon and the Gallery Players of Niagara, with her students, and with the Quebec group L'Harmonie des Saisons, with whom she recently recorded Bach solo and double concerti.
