Sinéad White

Soprano

Praised for her "luminous soprano" (The Whole Note), "dreamy vocals" (Oxford Daily Info, UK) and "lovely, precise coloratura" (OperaRamblings), soprano Sinéad White maintains an active performing and teaching schedule in North America.

As a sought-after soloist, Sinéad has collaborated with ensembles and organizations such as Victoria Baroque, Early Music Vancouver, Toronto Bach Festival, Theatre of Early Music, Opera Atelier, Musique Royale, Capella Regalis, the Nota Bene Players, Music and Beyond Festival (Ottawa), Sweetwater Music Festival, Kamloops Symphony, Chilliwack Symphony, and the Okanagan Festival Singers. A devoted ensemble singer, she has performed regularly with ensembles such as Tafelmusik Chamber Choir, the Elora Singers, Choir 21 and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir.

Sinéad is the co-founder of Duo Oriana with lutenist Jonathan Stuchbery, a soprano/lute duo dedicated to music of the Renaissance and Baroque, as well as arrangements of folk music from Ireland, Great Britain and beyond. Their debut album, How Like a Golden Dream (Leaf Music), was supported by the Canada Council for the Arts and FACTOR Canada and is available on all streaming platforms.

Sinéad earned her DMA in Historical Performance at the University of Toronto and both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees at McGill University. Further artistic training includes her time as a young artist at the Boston Early Music Festival, a Masterclass Residency with Les Arts Florissants, the Ton Koopman Academy in the Netherlands and an Art of Song Fellowship at the Toronto Summer Music Festival.
